Product Description

Perform the abilities of both a bypass and a demand pump all at once with this Delavan 3120-421F SmartFlo 12V Bypass-Demand Diaphragm Pump.

An excellent upgrade for your spraying unit, this Delavan electric diaphragm pump uses innovative SmartFLO technology that combines the advantages of both bypass and demand pump styles so you are better suited to handle varying flow rates and a wider variety of applications. The pump heads have both an internal bypass valve and a pressure sensing demand switch, so the pump can automatically adapt to changing system demands on your sprayer to deliver consistent flow rates, regardless of which discharge ports are open. Once all the system outlets are closed, the pressure sensing demand switch activates to turn the pump off. No more worrying about overheating and pump cycling as the Delavan SmartFLO Diaphragm Pumps give you the best of both bypass and demand pump styles.

Powered by a high-torque 12-volt DC electric motor with wire leads and a 2-pin molded connector. The 12V motor provides powerful flow at ideal pressures to ensure smooth and even coverage in your application.

The Delavan 3120-421F SmartFLO Bypass / Demand 12-Volt Diaphragm Pump can be used on small-to-medium sized sprayers, multi-outlet systems, and spray wand and spray bar setups in marine and RV applications, fluid transfer applications, agricultural spraying, spot spraying, lawn / turf spraying, and much more. The pump's Santoprene diaphragm and Viton valves provide great chemical resistance, enabling you to pump a range of general use agricultural chemicals, such as liquid fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and other hard-to-handle fluids.

Bypass Pumps continue to run regardless of pressure in the system by internally bypassing flow if the discharge outlet is closed. The motor and pump continue to run and are ready to delivery full power as soon as the system outlets are re-opened. A disadvantage of bypass pumps is that overheating may occur if the system outlets are closed for prolonged periods of time. Demand Pumps have a built-in pressure switch that automatically stops and starts the pump at specific pressure settings. They only run when the discharge outlets are open and liquid delivery is required. A disadvantage of demand pumps is that ON/OFF cycling at extreme frequencies can cause damage to pump components.
