If installed at height, it creates a pulling angle that allows the tip of the log to be slightly lifted and thus reduces friction on the ground.

Portable Winch PCA-1291 Automatic Release:

The Portable Winch PCA-1291 Automatic Release is an accessory for the PCA-1270 Open Face Corner Block. It fits ropes up to 1/2" in diameter and is excellent for those who pull logs with an ATV. The PCA-1291 can release a rope from the pulley, allowing a log to turn into the trail. You can adjust the automatic tripper to make the rope slip out of the pulley at the right moment, depending on the distance the anchor tree is from the trail. Turn the chain link 1/2 turn around the rope, then insert into the metal cartridge. Perfect for situations where you don't want to stop in the middle of your operation.
