The Koenders HD 250 Electric Aeration System will give a fresh breath of air to your water. By pumping a consistent flow of oxygen throughout the water body, it promotes healthy aerobic activity for fish and pond life. The oxygenation process also provides a source of energy for enzymes and bacteria to consume the excess nutrients, fish droppings, and pond muck that starves algae of its food source and keeps algae under control.

Bottom-up aeration systems compress oxygen directly into the water body from the bottom of the water column upwards. Diffuser stones are used to create small micro-sized oxygen bubbles that dissolve into the water as they travel towards the surface. Studies have shown that this way of transferring oxygen into water is 5-10 times more efficient than surface aeration. The compressors are plumbed and housed in weatherproof enclosures that protect them from moisture and provide enough air circulation to prevent overheating and freeze ups in all climates and temperatures. The housing is designed to reduce motor noise and operates at low decibel levels. It’s best to always have your HD 250 Aerator stored in a sheltered area to avoid direct sun, rain, and snowfall.
